The result is a garment that wears naturally and lasts well beyond the season it was made for.

How to wash wool and cashmere

A short care guide for wool and cashmere pieces, so they keep their shape and texture for years.

01 — The basic rule

No hot water and no sudden changes in temperature — otherwise the garment will shrink or lose its shape.
No machine spinning and no drying on a radiator.

02 — Washing

Hand washing is the best option.
Water temperature: no higher than 30 °C.
Detergent: a dedicated wool/cashmere product or a mild hair shampoo.
Soaking time: 5–10 minutes at most.
Press gently — never rub or wring.
Machine washing, only if truly necessary: “Wool” or “Delicate” programme only, at 20–30 °C, with the spin at minimum or switched off.

03 — Rinsing

The water should be cool, at roughly the same temperature as the wash.
Important: do not use fabric softener — it can damage the fibres. Choose products made for cashmere instead.

04 — Drying

After washing, wrap the garment in a towel and gently blot the water out.
Lay it flat on a dry towel — never hang it up.
Avoid direct sunlight and radiators.

05 — Storage

Wool and cashmere are best kept folded rather than on a hanger, so they do not stretch out.
Keep moth protection in the wardrobe (lavender, cedar balls).

Advice for our clients

Wash these pieces less often — wool and cashmere do not absorb odours as quickly as synthetics. Airing them out is often enough.
If pilling appears, remove it with a fabric shaver or a cashmere brush.
Always check the garment label, as composition and recommendations can vary slightly.
